Accepting Applications for Executive Director
 
The executive director is the chief executive officer of the State Bar of Texas. The State Bar of Texas is a mandatory state bar with 74,000 members and a staff of 270. Executes the policies and directives of the board in all State Bar activities. Acts as the treasurer of the State Bar and shall receive from the clerk of the Supreme Court, State Bar funds as provided by statute.
 
Minimum Qualifications: Requires a law degree from an ABA accredited law school and an active law license. Requires executive and administrative ability or experience preferably with an association, governmental agency, corporation, law firm or other organization with scope and complexity similar to that of the State Bar. Must be knowledgeable about current and future challenges facing the legal profession. Demonstrated skill in dealing with matters of a sensitive, confidential and/or political nature required. Requires travel for both in and out of state meetings.
